Jira test automation with an AI QA agent
Point it at your board. Get verdicts back. TestAutomate treats Jira as the source of truth: sweep tickets by JQL or status, test each one in a real browser, file what breaks, close what's fixed — and summarize the sprint in one line.
Every done ticket gets its day in court
Pick the tickets
A board, a status like Done or Dev Verified, or any JQL filter you already use. That's the sweep.
Bounded runs, durable queue
Each ticket becomes its own bounded agent run — capped in steps and spend — in a durable, resumable queue. Close the laptop; the sweep picks up where it left off.
Verdict per ticket
Verified fixed, still reproduces, or blocked — each with screenshot evidence linked back to the ticket. Re-fixed tickets are re-verified on the next sweep.
One-line sprint report
The whole sweep compresses to a sentence your standup can absorb — tickets, outcomes, and exactly what the sweep cost to run.
From board to verdicts, no tab-hopping

Verdicts
Say the ticket key. It already knows.
Say HCM-655 in chat and the agent pulls the ticket — summary, description, repro steps — and uses it as the brief. "Verify HCM-655 on staging" is a complete instruction.
- No copy-paste briefs. The ticket text is the test description. If the acceptance criteria are written down, they're what gets verified.
- Context plus knowledge. The ticket tells it what to check; ingested docs and remembered app quirks tell it how your product actually works.
- Works mid-conversation. Mention a key while discussing anything else and it's fetched into context — the tracker is always one utterance away.
It doesn't just read your tracker. It keeps it honest.
Deduped bugs, confirm-gated
A real failure becomes a Jira bug with evidence attached — screenshots, steps, verdict. Dedup checks stop the same bug being filed twice, and nothing is created until you confirm it.
Fixed issues get closed
When a re-run verifies the fix, the issue is closed with the passing evidence linked. Your backlog stops accumulating ghosts.
Blocked stays out of the bug count
Environment failures never become product bugs in your project. Staging going down mid-sweep grades blocked and the queue resumes when it's back.
Atlassian Marketplace plugin
Run sweeps and read verdicts from inside Jira itself. Today, TestAutomate connects to Jira Cloud directly from its own app.
Does it write to Jira without asking?
No. Bug filing is confirm-gated — you approve each new issue before it's created. Closing a fixed issue happens only after a re-run verifies the fix with evidence.
What does a sweep cost?
Each ticket's run is bounded in steps and spend, and the sprint report states the total — for example, $4.87 in model spend for a 12-ticket sweep on your own key, passed through at provider cost. Hard ceilings stop a sweep before it surprises you. Economics →
We use Linear, not Jira.
Linear is read-context today — the agent knows your Linear issues — and write actions are coming. See the Linear page →
